Who We Are
  Our History

Rhema Worship Center had its beginnings from a small bible study group held at Pastor's Ronnie's family home on June 18, 2006 with 18 people.

Pastor Ronnie was given specific instructions by God to design a ministry that would address the needs of people who were crying out to Him.

Later in 2006, Rhema Foundation
the Governing Board was also formed under Pastor Ronnie.
Shortly thereafter, worship services was being held on the campus of McKendree College at the Bothel Chapel. Due to college activities on certain Sundays our worship services were held at the Holiday Inn-Express (Shiloh) and The Fountains (Fairview Heights).

During this time of our journey we began to "spy out the land" for our permanent location. We began our search by thinking outside the box for properties to be renovated. We have viewed many properties, but none fitted our vision.
But, in March of 2009, the Lord led our congregation to the building for sale by the YMCA in Belleville, Illinois.

On May 24, 2009, we held our first worship service in our new location at 9100 Lebanon Road.

5 years and counting...the journey is just as important as the destination, and this is only the beginning!
What We Believe

We Believe:
The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

We Believe: There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

We Believe: Jesus died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of God, He is now our Lord and Advocate.

We Believe: The breath of God is the Word of God as it was spoken in the beginning, so we believe the power of the Spoken Word.

We Believe: In the Word according to Deuteronomy 8:3, "And he humbled thee and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knowest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
We Believe:  Tithes and offerings is a biblical principal and in Malachi 3:10 God's Word said for us to set aside the first tenth of our earnings as a gift to God. God is our Provider, and by giving into His Kingdom we are affirming His ability to supply all our needs. Our act of giving is an act of gratitude and thankfulness for our blessings. According to II Corinthians 8:9, we have to be willing, generous and cheerful givers. Let's build the Kingdom of God by being obedient to His word and faithful in our giving.

Giving:  We believe in giving alms to the poor, sick, homeless and others in despair.

Healing:  Divine healing is the restoration of health to those who believe and act on the truths written in God's word. Jesus Christ is our Healer, and by his stripes we are already healed.

Baptism:  We, water baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Faith:  Faith is acting the Word of God.

Salvation

What is Salvation?
Salvation is pardon from the guilt and penalty of sin.

Where does Salvation come from?
Salvation is a gift from God. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast."

Who can receive salvation?
Through Jesus, salvation is made available to all mankind.

What do I get from salvation?
The benefits of salvation are ongoing. They are deliverance, victory, prosperity, wholeness, healing, saveness, help, safety, welfare, defense, rescue, preservation, freedom, liberty and pardon. God has provided everything that we need for life and godliness. When we leave this earth, He has also provided us with an eternal home in
heaven with Him.

How does a person get saved?
Romans 10:9-10, "that is thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." You believe with your heart and confess with your mouth.

Can I get saved through any other way?
No. Jesus is the only way. He said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

I was baptized when I was a child, does that mean that I am saved?
No. The only way a person can be saved is to confess Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Baptism cannot save a person. Baptism is the outward sign of the redemptive work that Jesus did for you on the inside (in you spirit).

Once I am saved, what do I do?
First, find a good bible-believing and teaching church that you can attend regularly. Second, renew your mind in the Word of God; this is vital to your growth as a
Christian. Romans 12:2 "Be not conformed to the things of this world, but be ye transformed (changed) by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Third, make a quality decision that you're going to be and have all that God has said about you in His written Word. (The Bible).
